Transfer Agreements
Depending on the transfer route you want to take, there are structured pathways to help get you there! When you meet with your academic counselor at the community college and you tell them you want to transfer to four-year university, they will present you with the options to make your transfer experience less confusing.
What is the Intersegmental General Education Transfer Curriculum (IGETC)?
The IGETC is the curriculum that fulfills the lower division core requirements at CSU and UC schools as part of the college transfer agreements. There are 34 core units required for UC schools and 37 for CSU schools. Completing the IGETC does not guarantee admissions to UC schools. However, if you are admitted, you will be on a fast track to completing your degree, since many basic requirements will already have been satisfied.
What is the CSU General Education-Breadth?
For those students who know that they only want to apply to a California State 足球比分网 (CSU) to transfer, they can decide to complete the CSU General Education Breadth requirements to transfer. This allows student to complete lower division requirements for any CSU. However, if you are unsure whether you want to apply to a CSU or UC, it is recommended to complete IGETC for the UC campuses do not accept CSU General Education Breadth.

What is the California Community College Transfer Guarantee to Historically Black Colleges (HBCUs)?
On March 17 2015, an agreement allowing transfer guarantees to certain HBCUs was signed. This allows CA community college student the ability to transfer to designated HBCUs as long as they have a GPA of 2.5 or higher and complete one of two options (1) complete 30 UC or CSU units or (2) satisfy all requirements of the IGETC.

What is a Transfer Admission Guarantee (TAG)?
Six UC campuses offer the Transfer Admission Guarantee (TAG) program for California community college students who meet specific requirements. UC TAG campuses are: Davis, Irvine, Merced, Riverside, Santa Barbara, and Santa Cruz. By participating in TAG, you will receive early review of your academic records, early admission notification and specific guidance about major preparation and general education coursework.

What is an Associate Degree for Transfer (ADT)?
The new joint transfer program from the California Community Colleges and the California State Universities makes it easier for students like you to transfer between the two school systems. Community college students who complete a new AA-T or AS-T will be guaranteed admission to the California State 足球比分网 (CSU) system. With this new degree, you have the opportunity to complete two degrees (Associate’s and Bachelor’s) with only 120 units if you apply and are admitted into a similar degree program.

What is ASSIST.org?
ASSIST is a web-based student-transfer information system. It displays reports of how course credits earned at one California college or university can be applied when transferred to another. ASSIST is the official repository of articulation for California’s colleges and universities and therefore provides the most accurate and up-to-date information available about student transfer in California.
